Kohunlich

Archaeological zone of 8.5 hectares surrounded by forest, and which would have started its settlement around 200 BC, although most of the most significant buildings were built in the early Classic period between 500 and 600 AD. The growth of the city continued towards the Terminal Classic and even the Early Postclassic (1000-1200 AD).

In its heyday it represented a point of trade link between the cities of the Yucatan Peninsula and the rest of the Mayan cities of Central America.

Merida

Merida, named one of the cities to be visited in 2017 by The Guardian, is one of the cities in Mexico that breathes tranquility day after day.

The peace of this city, the beauty of its streets, makes it a place of elegance and contrast with its colonial houses, its Mayan ruins and its architecture; It also has an exquisite gastronomic collection that will take over your taste. Its Plaza Mayor is a vibrant meeting place where locals enjoy traditional drinks, such as champola or sorbet. You can not miss the opportunity to know Paseo de Montejo, the most important avenue in the White City.

Banco Chinchorro, a large coral necklace

Mexico has the privilege of possessing the second largest coral reef in the world. This is the Chinchorro Bank, a place that is considered a biosphere reserve and is located on the coasts of the state of Quintana Roo. This atoll is also the largest of Mexican beaches and is home to different species. For this reason, it has become one of the favorite sites for divers, who practice their sport like nowhere else.

With 43 kilometers long by 28 wide, Banco Chinchorro does not cease to amaze locals and foreigners alike. It is a sand bank, surrounded by coral of a thickness of 20 meters. After this is formed, curiously, a kind of sandy bottom pool. And although the extension is considerable, only two parts of the bank stand out.

The Puuc Route

In the year of 1921, Mr. Pascual Rivero ordered the construction of the hacienda “Kancabchén” (red earth well), which is located just 15 minutes from the colonial city of Merida in the state of Yucatan.

This beautiful colonial-type farm was created with the aim of engaging in livestock and henequen activities; But due to the gradual disappearance of the henequen industry, Mr. Gamboa Rivero inherits the property from his daughter, Mrs. Josefina Gamboa de Casares, who held it until 1985.
