MADAGASCAR

The fourth largest island in the world, in the middle of the Indian Ocean, hosts Madagascar, a country that is a potent producer of rice and spices such as cinnamon or vanilla, and which offers a spectacular fauna and flora.

WHAT TO DO IN MADAGASCAR?

Ile Sainte Marie

Sainte-Marie, called Nosy Boraha, means the island of women. The island is surrounded by a barrier reef, has a lagoon with turquoise waters and fine sand beaches.

In the heart of the island there is a very dense vegetation, hills covered in vanilla and cocoa and rivers among the trees. Cosmopolitan, Nosy Boraha has welcomed pirates, fishermen, sailors and merchants from all over the world: Asia, Africa, the East and Europe.

Avenue of the Baobabs

Baobabs are also known by the names of adansonia or bottle tree. There are 8 species of baobabs in the world, of which 6 grow on the island of Madagascar, one in continental Africa and one in Australia.

It is said that thousands of years ago the baobab tree was the most beautiful tree in the world. Its leafy branches, its leaves and colorful flowers were admired by all who passed by. The gods, dazzled by so much splendor, granted him the gift of longevity. The baobab grew and grew without stopping, each time it became taller and stronger.

Tsingy of Bemaraha

It is a huge and spectacular stone forest. A place where impressive calcareous needles rise towards the sky, creating a landscape that looks like another planet.

And not only because of its incredible image, this corner is also very interesting because of the vegetation that surrounds it, why it grows between the rocks and the fauna that inhabits it. That is why it is a national park and a World Heritage Site.

TSIRIBIHINA RIVER

It begins with the crossing of immense plains where food crops dominate. Then it enters the impressive gorges of Tsiribihina. On the cliffs, we can see camellia or crocodiles that relax under the sun.

Nosy Be

This small island is another must see in Madagascar and it attracts hundreds of tourists every year. The beaches in Nosy Be are spectacular, very similar to what we can define as “paradisiacal”. The tranquility, the turquoise water and the seafood restaurants are just some of the reasons to visit it.

MIAVANA

“MIAVANA” Luxury Hotel is a true paradise on earth built on Nosy Ankao, a private island in northern Madagascar that is accessible by helicopter from Antsiranana. It was designed for nature lovers, in search of peace and well-being. You can sign up for nautical activities such as whale watching, diving, windsurfing and kite surfing. But it is also possible to engage in other activities such as fly fishing, the discovery of trekking lemurs in the rainforest of Madagascar, the main island and night excursions to observe the sea turtle breeding.
