WHAT TO DO IN LEBANON?

Beirut

It is called the Paris of the Middle East, since it is a modern city, alive and with many attractions. It is full of contrasts: modern, rich areas, with branded shops, elegant restaurants and night-clubs and destroyed areas.

Baalbeck

In ancient times the city of Baalbeck had the name of Heliopolis and was a Roman colony. Its name comes from the local deity Baal – the sun god, associated with Helios, the Greek sun god. Baalbeck is located 2 hours east of Beirut.

Biblos

Byblos is one of the oldest cities in Lebanon. It is also known Byblos as Jbeil, which is the one used in the area. Byblos was the name given to the city by the Greeks and Jbeil is its name in Arabic. It is a Phoenician city that was built on a hill and has a very interesting history. The oldest part of the city is inscribed on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites.

Baatara waterfall

It is a waterfall inside a cave that passes through three bridges formed in a natural way by limestone. The cave is also known as the Three bride cave. The waterfall, however, can not be seen all year round. It is created thanks to the water that melts and falls as a waterfall inside the 255 meter cave. The best period to go there is between March and April, which is when the snow melts.

The waterfall is located next to the town of Balaa, 74 km from Beirut.
