WHAT TO DO IN LAOS?
Luang Pranbang
In Southeast Asia, where the dizzying tourist development tends to overwhelm, Luang Prabang is a happy surprise that it receives with a modernized airport. This tiny capital, beautifully preserved and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is full of temples, French colonial houses and wooden dwellings with traditional style. All, at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers.
Vientiane
Vientiane is a small city of 250,000 inhabitants on the banks of the Mekong from where you can see Thailand on the clearest days. The most important thing to see in Vientiane are its temples, some colonial buildings, its markets, and the part of the Mekong river bank.
Pak Ou Caves
The visit to the Pak Ou Caves is one of the most common half-day excursions to be made from Luang Prabang, the beautiful and spiritual capital of northern Laos. They are located in the Asian country of Laos, 25 kilometers from Luang Prabang. It is actually two sanctuaries created inside limestone caves, decorated with small statues of wooden Buddhas. It is estimated that there are about 4,000 figures and because they belong to the thirteenth and nineteenth centuries, are already somewhat deteriorated, but no less beautiful.
